Baywatch Gets Summer 2011 Release And New Screenwriters!

It's officially been announced that Paramount Pictures have just hired Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka to write a a brand new screenplay for the a Baywatch film. There also looking for a Summer 2011 release date. The script is expected to be based on the original series with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. It's also expected to be an all action lifeguard film. Sounds pretty awesome. No word yet to who's gonna be directing it or even who's gonna be starring in it. But back when it was first announced in 2004, Jessica Simpson was officially cast as CJ Parker (Pamela Anderson's role in original) and also Nuts Babe, Keeley Hazel was cast as a British female lifeguard. It was also surppost to be a action/comedy like the Police Academy film series. And on that Police Academy note, Steve Guttenberg has announced that he really wants a Police Academy 8 film. The creators of the original, including Guttenberg are all planning to reboot the series with the new film based on the original cast training a whole new cast of recruits to carry on the new franchise. Basically the way Ghostbusters 3 film is gonna go.

UPDATE: It's now nearly past Summer 2011 and there's still no "Baywatch: The Movie".............just thought I'd point that out there!!!
