Everything I Do, I Do It Big

Not having had a piano for 9 months (pain), my fingers have been virtually superglued to the keys for the past week. I've been playing/writing a bit of my own stuff, but mostly, I seem to be addicted to playing covers of the songs I've been listening to over the year, inspired by Cris Cab, who did a cover that I just LOVE. It's Black and Yellow by the ever-forgettably-named, Wiz Khalifa, whose name (I just found out when I googled B&Y, trying to find said name) came from the arabic word, Khalifa, which means successor, and, get this: wisdom, because, and I quote, "I was good at everything I did". It's nice to know everyone's being modest here.

In contrast, Cris Cab is seventeen and has a voice which, I think, is beyond his years. He has been influenced by artists like Bob Marley and Jack Johnson, which, when you listen to this cover, you'll be very much aware of. I can't get enough of this song at the moment, especially when the brass kicks in. You just gotta love a bit of brass.
I also love that he changed the lyrics of words like "hos", to words like "ladies". What a respectful young man.

Hope you like it!

I'm off to the south of France for a few days for a party, so I'll be back after the weekend with, hopefully, a lot of nice photos!
Have a good week all
X
